But of course, BP has nothing to do with it.

Millions of dead fish and cetaceans are a perfectly normal occurrence in every mass extinction event.

  1. Have I commented about the name of your 'blog before? I don't tend to believe that the "technological Singularity" idea advanced by Kurzweil is possible. However that may be, I see everything since the invention of cities and writing as a kind of Singularity. From the standpoint of geology and evolution it is an event horizon one cannot see through, because we don't know enough about either nature or ourselves.
