I guess 'thirty billion years' was the old British usage -- star formation will continue for a trillion years at least.
Actually it feels a bit ominous to me, that we appear to exist so very early in the universe's projected lifetime. At least one string theory variant claims another big bang could happen without warning, due to a collision with another universe in a higher dimension, wiping out all structure that exists now.
Anyway, was that Dawkins? I don't recognize anyone by voice.
