...Budget deficits are a ruse, as we've seen in Wisconsin, where the Governor turned a surplus into a deficit by providing corporate tax breaks, and then used the deficit as a ploy to break the unions, not just in Wisconsin, but seeking to be the first domino in a nationwide conservative movement...
Well of course. They've been doing this kind of thing since George W. Bu$h rode into town and turned the surplus into deficits with endless war and endless tax-breaks to the Company robber barons. That's also why the states are broke.
There's a real simple way to end all this, but now the Company owns the Democrats, it's not going to happen. They'll end up just going along with the Republicans, then try to use it to run against the Republicans. This is all the famed n-dimensional chess game of the Laureate has to offer us.
Weakness and ruin, but again, chaos is the plan.

Lakoff's such a charlatan that I nearly vomit whenever I encounter his name. He is the king of More, Better Democrats. Puke-tastic.
Phenergan works for that. Be sure to stock up, since the Democrats are the only remotely effective way to fight this. Are you willing to walk like an Egyptian? How about like a Libyan? If the Republicans have their way, any police response will be a lot more like Qaddafi's than Mubarak's.
Machine gunning the protesters, in addition to the torture behind the scenes.
Lakoff happens to be correct in this instance.
A major problem does happen to be the Democrats, largely, are spineless venal fools.
The Republicans have the courage of their demented convictions.
Just let Newt, to say nothing of Palin, get the Laureate's job.
You haven't seen trouble yet.
I don't think the Ds are spineless, though I agree they're venal.
I think they're doing just what they want, I give them no credit for honorable-motive-but-absent-cojones.
Their behavior is explained far better by willfulness, than by spinelessness. What would cause them to be cowed? They're raking in the bucks and the privileges that come from being in power at the Fed level. What possibly could intimidate them to the point of spinelessness?
Rep/Dem is as artificial a divide as good guy/bad guy in pro wrestling. This is why Lakoff is like Syrup of Ipecac -- he's mining themes that could be true ONLY in a world where there's a real legitimate substantive tension between Repub and Dem at any level beyond/above a 1,000 person town alderman vote, or the like. Once there's enough of a population for the National parties to take an interest, the symbiotic pull of corporate profit takes over.
Regional small systems are the only places where there's still a meaningful difference, but sadly Lakoff is not commenting on that landscape, at least not as far as I can tell. Certainly not in Moral Politics, which I read fairly carefully and closely.
Anyway, no personal slights against you intended here. I'm just obviously not a fan of Lakoff in any capacity.
