Right enough, and the energy crisis like the economic crisis is an entirely human problem. The problems we have are inherent in a system where, to quote another fine comment elsewhere,

Speaking of energy, the deep solar minimum we've had since 2007 may finally be ending.
One hopes things are looking up, and those who keep track of such things have evidence the solar cycle may be on the upswing once more:
It's nice to know we've put off another Ice Age for at least ten years. Now if we can just be so lucky with the next hurricane season.
