Perpetrators of the Illusion

The Cowboy speaks.

"The universe is not only queerer than we suppose, it is queerer than we can suppose."
-Fred Hoyle

People who aren't psychopaths can't imagine the depths to which the robber baron criminals have sunk.

I suspect it gets better. I suspect Obama (like Hillary would have been) was initially propelled to the fore because of the ease in which the Republican propaganda machine could dissemble him.

However, establishing the economic dominion of the robber barons created some severe resonating instabilities in the global markets.

Obama was allowed to win by gaining the support of the bankers. They needed someone to re-establish the Faith in the $ystem. Once Obama has stabilized the markets, he will be disposed of one way or another.

Hi!
First, you are right of course the bankers need someone to re-establish faith in the system. They will have to swallow some regulation. They will attempt to swallow as little as possible. I love they way they first beg for money and then once they get it they return to their high-flying ways.

What is also Interesting to me is to see how many ways the people in the industry are saying, "We aren't really to blame!" I think they don't want to be singled out and I don't blame them. When they aren't singled out then they can hide from the consequences.

I would like for an equivalent of a Progressive Shock Doctrine to go into effect after a screw up at these levels.

The economic world view of conservatives have failed and they think they still have power. And they do, they are willing to drag the economy down on the entire country to get what they want. It was a massive game of chicken and we swerved to same the lives of the country who were in the back seat of the banker's car. (Hey I just made that metaphor up! Do you like it?)

I do think that the corporations will want to get rid of Obama as soon as they can if he doesn't act "Center Right" enough.

Hiya Spocko

In fact, they still do have power. In fact, they pulled support from McCain because McCain-Palin showed themselves too stupid to run their money making machine. Your metaphor is exactly right.

But Progressives don't Shock. We like to see things get better. Besides, any action we might do would be labeled Terra'ism and good for a one way ticket to Gitmo.

That is, any action they could trace. Sometimes the best action is to go all Buddhist and let the Enemy do the Keystone Cop thing all on their own. Case in point: the McCain campaign.
