This is, of course, what tax-cut mania really means, but it's also what it means when politicians prioritize showy expenditures over basic maintenance and services. This is America, breaking down.

Unfortunately, the cover-up of the Minneapolis bridge failure is already proceeding apace, with Bu$hie trying to smooth the waters at the home of the 2008 Rethuglican National Convention next year. Doubtless some engineers will be lynched. Engineers who probably had to tone down their critiques of the bridge's safety in order to keep their jobs will lose their jobs because of this.

No one will ever hold the contractors and rethuglican managers overseeing the bridge's overhaul responsible. Evah.
