Just one of those things no one believes when you tell them

A couple of years out of date, but germane still. Mike Whitney, via Zack Smith (that's a great site, which you should spend some time looking at), via Lambert, via Avedon:

...Why would Homeland Security hire former Stasi chief Markus Wolfe and former head of the KGB General Yevgeni Primakov?

Is this part of the Bush anti-terror strategy? After all, Wolfe is the man who is credited with building up the feared East German secret police that was responsible for the disappearance and deaths of thousands of citizens. And, Primakov’s record is not any better. As skipper of the KGB he was driving force behind the machinery of state terror; a legacy that still has a chilling affect on many Russians.

Now, apparently, they’ve found a new place to hang their hats at Homeland Security...

Lambert also points to The Washington Pravda, which seems to have found out that all of our Iraqi intelligence is coming from private contractors, which ,of course, "extends our government's reach".

How useful. What useful idiots they are at The Washington Pravda, sipping their martinis and eating their cocktail weenies, made of the flesh of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians dying in a civil war to enrich the Cheneyburton Corporation.
