It doesn't have to be this way.
Democrats who espouse Democratic positions can and do win.
Look what just happened to Haastert's seat.
Both of the major Democratic candidates go out of their way to reassure the Republican Ba$e how moderate they are. That is a recipe for disaster. I'll support and vote for either Democrat for President, but their accommodation of Republican policy only ensures their defeat.
